I urge you to see comments from Physicians like Dr. Marty Makary - world renowned epidemiologist and surgeon -in his numerous op-Eds in the Wall Street Journal regarding mandates for children.  This virus needs to be put into perspective- approximately 600 children have died WITH Covid and not necessarily OF Covid from the beginning and compare that to over 1000 deaths in children from the flu during the same time span. As a pharmacist I can tell you this experimental treatment has not been studied nearly to the level of other treatments used in pediatric patients - no longitudinal data and no real safety data yet. The MMR vaccine - a vaccine in the true sense of the word took 15years of use and monitoring until it was mandated in schools. This “vaccine” does not prevent patients from getting the virus or transmitting. Colleges across the country mandated and still young adults are getting it and spreading it.Not to mention that it is immoral not to allow for medical and  religious exemptions including those that have recovered natural immunity with broader antibody protection that are at higher risk of adverse events when receiving these shots. Experimenting on children like this is completely unethical. And regarding masks - no other western democracy masks children and we are no better in the US with our pediatric cases. You just need to look at Sweden as the control group as they have never masked kids in schools and their numbers are comparable to the US. The risk to benefit ratio absolutely does not justify such an overreach as to mandate the shot for those under 17 and probably more like under 25. If you want the government to be able to experiment on your child then that’s on you. But don’t you dare force it on others that follow ALL the data and disagree on your conclusion and choice.
