A vote for choice

For several reasons, strictly mandating a new vaccine without long term research is unwise.
Choice is a celebrated right in Virginia. Parents, students, and school staff deserve the privacy to decide what their choice in this matter will be. Choice has been stolen regularly with and without the vaccine. Further invasion of our health care decisions should stop. Mandating personal protection  equipment to be worn has causes enough turmoil. As a hearing disabled teacher, mask mandates have disabled me further. I received the vaccine simply to have a chance to rid our schools of these terrible communication and education hindrances. The vaccine has done very little to reduce the “covid disruptions” student and teachers are experiencing. Therefore a mandate does not promise positive change.
The numbers no longer support “pandemic” level concern. Our students need to return to pre covid normal and our health care needs should return to a confidential status.
