Action:
To Amend Regulations Pertaining to Fee Schedule for Permit Holders
Action 5403
General Information
Action Summary |
Chapter 60 is being amended to make all permit fees zero beginning in the year 2020. Eliminating the permit fees will have many benefits to Virginia and its horse racing participants by providing an incentive for more out-of-state horsemen race in Virginia, which in turn will not only increase pari-mutuel wagering, but also the tourism and agricultural industries as a result of more horsemen staying in hotels and eating in restaurants during the racing seasons, in addition to them buying more hay, straw, feed, and other supplies for their horses. |
