Action Summary |
Eliminates the requirement to have a medical practitioner sign a patient care report attesting to the delivery of a drug or the performance of an invasive procedure. The action is in response to legislation (HB1499/SB773) enacted during the 2013 General Assembly Session, permitting certified EMS personnel acting within their scope of practice to administer drugs and devices pursuant to an oral or written order or standing protocol. This action conforms to recent amendments to the Board of Pharmacy regulations (18 VAC110-20-500). |
