Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes
This is an update of guidance memo No. 14-2008 that reflects the VPDES Nonmetallic Mineral Mining General Permit as reissued in July 2019. In addition to updating the permit term, this guidance reflects adding NAIC codes to the permit, adjusting the timing for registrations statements and SWPPPs, requiring a copy of the notice provided to relevant MS4’s with the registration statement, identifying and providing information regarding treatment chemicals added, removing TPH monitoring, requiring an inspection within five days of an action level exceedance, removing the permit limits based on the Chickahominy water quality standard, merging comprehensive site evaluations into routine inspections, and amending the housekeeping permit language.
