I am writing to urge you reject all amendments which lower health and safety standards at Virginia abortion centers.  I am an advocate for my neighbors in poverty along the Route One Corridor in Richmond and Chesterfield.  Many young girls and women use these facilities in times of desperation.  These neighbors who already live in very difficult situations deserve the highest health and safety standards.  There are many businesses along the Route One Corridor that prey upon the poor.  Are we going to add abortion clinics to the list?  It is unthinkable not to uphold prescribed legal standards of safety for women who chose to have an abortion at one of these clinics.  I implore you to make your decision of upholding health and safety standards at abortion clinics based on the standards you would insist upon if your own daughter was visiting one of these clinics.  Thank you for your attention to this very important matter.    We, the concerned citizens of this Commonwealth, are counting on you to protect the lives of women in poverty by maintaining or even raising the level of health and safety standards in Virginia's Abortion Clinics.
