Please don't water down health and safety standards for abortion centers!

I urge you not to modify the standards of care for abortion centers in Virginia. This action would put women at risk. Indeed, because of these standards a Fairfax abortion center had its abortion practice shut down and its license suspended after a 52-page document described incident after incident of gut-wrenching health and safety violations, including a botched abortion where a woman’s cervix was cut, but the abortion center had no sutures on site to fix the injury, so the woman had to be rushed to a local emergency room to stop the bleeding. Should this facility have been left to continue providing shoddy care that endangers women's lives?

Women deserve the best care possible.  I don't expect an abortion center to have less accountability than any other outpatient surgical center. I urge you to maintain the standards of care for the women of Virginia.
