It is really very simple: The Board should require licensed veterinary medicine practitioners to obtain the same level of consent by owners of animal patients that licensed medical professionals obtain from their human patients (and in the case of minor children, from their parents).  Put yourselves in the position of parents of human children.  Do you want your child, unbeknownst to you, to be treated by a third year medical student?
