Considering the low national ranking of Virginia veterinary colleges, I would think the board would have a great interest in raising the standard for improved service and take every step to enact regulations which make the public aware that veterinary practice in Virginia is equal to the highest standards in our country.   Transparency in documented owner consent,  supervision by fully licensed veterinarians in both teaching and public clinical settings  are minimal standards to improve consumer confidence, accountability of teaching institutions and national standing for Virginia's veterinary colleges.   Students, animal owners, their animals and tax payers deserve no less.
