I OPPOSE

I CURRENTLY WORK AT A SHELTER AND I OPPOSE!!!!!! NO KILL SHELTERS ARE GREAT FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF LIFE AN ANIMAL HAS WHILE IN THE SHELTER. THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE CLASSIFIED RIGHT THERE WITH PUPPY MILLS. PEOPLE THAT DON'T WORK IN A SHELTER DON'T SEE THE ANIMALS THAT STRUGGLE WITH HEALTH ISSUES AND SUFFER. THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SO WORRIED ABOUT THESE ANIMALS BEING PUT TO SLEEP ARE NOT THE ONES WHO WANT TO ADOPT THEM OR EVEN HELP WITH MEDICAL COSTS AND CARE. VERY RARELY DO WE HAVE AN ADOPTER THAT IS WILLING TO TAKE ON AN ANIMAL WITH ANY KIND OF HEALTH ISSUE, NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE MATTER MAY BE. SO TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO MAKE ALL SHELTERS "NO KILL" NEED TO GO WORK WITH THE DANGEROUS/AGGRESSIVE DOGS THAT CANT BE HANDLED SAFELY AND SEE WHAT THEY DO ABOUT THAT. THESE ADVOCATES DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT WE CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP AN AGRESSIVE DOG HERE UNTIL IT DIES OF OLD AGE BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE ADOPTED OUT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE SUPPORT FOR ANIMALS IN A MUNICIPAL SHELTER RATHER THAN JUST ATTACKING AND DEGRADING THE KIND OF HUMAN BEINGS THAT WORK IN THE SHELTERS.
