Strongly Support No Kill

In response to the people who comment that this additional record keeping burdens the shelters and will cost money I have this to say: shelters and organizations claiming to be rescues, have been dumping the bodies of manimals they euthanized (many of which were healthy) in store dumpsters and other places which put public health in jeopardy. Many of these poor, trusting animals HAVE BEEN kept out of their records so that shelters may lie about their save rate. There is a definite need for stronger accountability of what happens to your pets. In other states, No Kill policies have saved many animals being needlessly disposed of while bringing communities together in order to increase spay and neuter rates. THAT IS WHAT WE OWE OUR PETS - we love them and they  should not be killed just because they need to be rehomed.

The boards governing the shelters are too blinded by the immediate future to make decisions which will ultimately help SOLVE the problem of overpopulation where euthanasia has failed. That is why an outside organization is fighting this battle. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY FOR OUR PETS (our family, our friends). The time to move forward and redeem ourselves is now. No Kill will help Virginia get there!
