Oppose

As a vet tech student, I oppose. As students, we are required to learn our skills via on-hand experience. Our externships in practice are where we learn the most of our skills. Without this opportunity, we would be unable to learn. If veterinarians were required to have a pet owner sign a consent form, veterinary technology students would get nowhere near as much experience as we could now. A veterinarian will not allow tech students to perform a task that we were completely unfamiliar with. Anyone working in practice - licensed, certified, or not - will always be looking out for the best interest in the patient and would never attempt to harm.
