Unnecessary change-current laws are adequate

I believe the laws already in place adequately protect the public and their animals.  It will be unnecessarily burdensome if owners must give written consent every time a student collects a blood sample or participates in an anesthesia procedure and I suspect some  mentors could become less willing to have students as a result.  This would result in tecnicians and veterinarians graduating from their programs with less experience yet having a license to then practice without any supervision.

I emplore the BVM to simply examine the validity of the existing laws and regulation that protect the public and more importantly the animals of Virginia.  This change is unnecessary.

I am saddened by the lack of trust in the veterinary profession and the insinuation that the veterinary professionals of the Commonwealth are not first and foremost comitted to the welfare of the animals in their care.  Perhaps the effort should be redirected at informing the public and their concerns.
