Vet Students need to learn, that is understood.  However, no student should be allowed to treat any animal without the owner's consent.  There should always be a liscened vet present in the room with the student while they are treating the animal.  In my opinion, as a pet owner for more than 60 years, a  liscened vet present in the room  is necessary for it to be a learning situation for the student, and for the full protection of the animal.
