Please Maintain Essential Abortion Center Health and Safety Regulations

Board of Health,

My friends of the great commonwealth, I truly cannot believe that you are even considering not holding abortion clinics to the same minimal regulations as hospitals. I am 31 and have been going to abortion clinics weekly since I turned 17. I have seen the most heart wrenching situations of 14 year old girls dragged in by their parents, boyfriends, and abusive husbands. The condition of these "clinics" are disgusting! I have also been privileged to help 254 of these women choose life and have thrown baby showers and more for them. All worth it - every hour spent being harassed at "clinics" for being a voice for the voiceless child. With all due respect - you need to be aggressively defending the rights of the unborn child in the same way your would protect your own children. I have a 5 month daughter and my wife and I would lay down our lives for her. If you do not protect these women and children, who will" I encourage you all - google the clinics in your area and then spend two hours watching the people that go in. Talk to them and see why they are there. It will change your life... and perhaps save many lives.

Dear Members of the Board of Health,

Abortion center regulations are essential for the health and safety of Virginia women and must be maintained. Health department inspectors have uncovered hundreds of health and safety violations. These violations include improper hand washing procedures and blood splatter on instruments and examination tables and abortions on minors without documented informed consent. The most recent inspections revealed significant abuse as an abortion center recorded an incredibly high number of complications from attempted chemical abortions with RU-486. The abortion industry has fought regulation for years, yet repeatedly independent inspectors find serious deficiencies, even during announced inspections. Abortion centers are not able to self-regulate. Abortion is not healthcare because it ends lives instead of healing them. However, since abortion operates under the guise of healthcare abortion centers must adhere to the regulatory standards of other healthcare facilities. Simply, Virginia women deserve nothing less. Thank you for considering my perspective on this important matter. Joshua Dart
