Virginia women deserve to have safe health care, and the regulations which were recently put into place do a solid job of improving the the safety of women seeking medical care at facilities which provide abortions. These regulations, which were prompted by the inhumane treatment of women at Kermit Gosnell's clinic in Pennsylvania, will ensure that no Virginia woman will have to suffer such terrible treatment as did his victims. With these regulations, Virginia has taken a proactive step in making sure that we will not have such a substandard clinic operating in Virginia, only to discover after the fact that countless women have been hurt. For these reasons, we should keep the regulations as they are.
