Why would we not expect abortion clinics to meet basic safety and access standards that we felt were important enough for real health providers to meet? Why is this controversial, or rather, why is it even an option for abortion clinics to not meet these basic standards? Wasn't the whole point of legalizing abortion to make it "safe" for women?

Why wouldn't this be a point of agreement for everyone who wants to protect women's health?
