I have two cats and a tortoise. I consider them to be my children. Because they are my children I want nothing less then the best of care for them. I have no problem with vetrinary students hands on learning. BUT I do have BIG problem if the student caring for my pet is not monitored by a lisenced vetrinarian. Sometimes mistakes happen even with seasoned vetrinarians so why should I think a student vetrinarian knows everything about carig for my pet? If you are allowing students to care for sick and injured pets I think you should inform the pet owner and allow them to decide if they want an unsupervised student caring for their pet. Remember ALL animals are Living, Breathing, Beings. Humans regard their pets as family members and they should be treated with the same regard and respect that you'd give to ahuman patient.
