Summary	NOTE: This manual is currently being updated due to changes effective 10/1/2009. A new version of this manual will be available soon. The Refugee and Immigrant Health Program Manual is used as the guidance document for the Newcomer Health Program whose mission is to protect the public's health by empowering VDH health districts to provide thorough initial health assessments to all new refugees entering the Commonwealth. Their objective is to identify and eliminate health related barriers to successful resettlement of Virginia's refugee population while protecting the health of the U.S. population
