Board of Health,
I have seen abortion clinics splattered with blood and instruments not properly sterilized. I have also seen horrific infections caused by these procedures when abortion clinics are less sterile than a veterinary clinic. Many times they dont get all of the fetus and /or placenta and the women get infected from that and have to go to the hospital to finish taking these out and to treat the women for the infections these improperly conducted abortions caused. Sometimes all these infections cause the women to be infertile. In short, you should leave the rules which keep the clinics regulated and sterile to protect womens health. Abortion facilities should be at least as regulated and sterile as a veterinary clinic, and preferably as a Dr. Office or hospital. Debra Coyner, M.D.
