The Virginia Board of Corrections, in accordance with Section 53.1-5 of the Code of Virginia amends the "Standards for State Correctional Facilities" (6VAC 15-31-10 et seq.). These amendments reflect operational and management standards for state-operated prisons, field units, and work centers. The amended standards increase required inspections of fire extinguishers to monthly; affect inmate grooming and inmate correspondence procedures; require that all health care personnel review procedures every 12 months; and provide for institutinal Commuinity Advisory Boards. |
