Back-alley Abortion

For decades I have heard abortion advocates tell horror stories about the back-alley abortions that would result if abortion was not legalized.  Today abortion in Virginia is legal with few restrictions and under some common sense regulations.  But now abortion advocates want all restrictions removed and standards for who is allowed to perform such operations and under what conditions they can be performed to be eliminated.  That is, they want to go back to about the same standards (none) that were in effect when abortion was illegal and so-called back-alley abortion was the norm.  What is wrong with this picture.

For the record, I am strongly anti-abortion, but if abortion is legal under some conditions it should at least be as safe as possible for the mother and a child born alive should be protected from the tender ministrations of killer delegates and the infanticide governor and his peers.  There should never be any such as Stephen Brigham, in Northern Virginia, or Kermit Gosnell, but there would be little to prevent such things if the abortion advocates on the Board of Health, the Attorney General, and the Governor are successful.
