While I support portability, I strongly oppose this proposed regulation as it makes it impossible for counselors not trained in CACREP programs from being licensed in VA. This would leave out many very qualified graduates of nonCACREP programs from being licensed in VA. As a faculty memberat U of Minnesota, we trained many excellent counselors in our nonCACREP MA program over many years. These well qualified counselors would not be licensable in VA.
