Dear Members of the Board of Dentistry:

I am writing to support the petition to designate the Roanoke Valley Dental Society as a sponsor for approved continuing education for each renewal of license of dentists licensed to practice in the state of Virginia.  I have been practicing in Roanoke for 26 years and one of the highlights of my career  has been my membership in the RVDS.  We have had regular scientific and social meetings over this time.  These meetings have served as a place for local dentists to share ideas and to hear outstanding scientific speakers.  These speakers have included professors from MCV-VCU as well as nationally known authorities in dentistry.  We have had hour long presentations at our regular monthly meetings as well as all day meetings.  Being able to count these presentations toward our Continuing education requirements would be a great addition to our Society's benefits. I respectfully submit that you allow the Roanoke Valley Dental Society to become a certified sponsor of approved continuing education.
