The Roanoke Valley Dental Society should be a sponsor for continuing education in Virginia.

Having been a member of the Roanoke Valley Dental Society since 1980, I can attest to the fact that the quality of the continuing education programs sponsored by the RVDS has always met or exceeded the quality of programs offered by other sponsoring organizations which are recognized by the Virginia Board of Dentistry for “approved continuing education for each renewal of license.”

The Roanoke Valley Dental Society has been in continued existence since at least 1932. The RVDS has continuously offered new dentists in this area the opportunity to establish relationships with seasoned colleagues. Long-term practitioners have benefited from the training and perspectives of the more recent graduates. With the RVDS recognized as a sponsor for “approved continuing education for each renewal of license,” more dentists are likely to benefit not only from the programs, but also from the development of strong positive professional relationships with local colleagues. The improved ongoing contact among colleagues likely will lead to the betterment of care for the citizens of this area of the state.

I would strongly recommend that the Virginia Board of Dentistry designate the Roanoke Valley Dental Society as a sponsor of “approved continuing education for each renewal of license.”

Sincerely,

A. Scott Anderson, III, D.D.S.
