I don't think physical therapists should perform dry needling with minimal training. There is no standards for training, no clinical supervision, no written or practical exam to show proficiency. From what I've read online and in social media, physical therapists use acupuncture needles, read acupunture textbooks, and treat conditions unrelated to the musculoskeletal system. They advertise dry needling for stress or migraines. In that respect, they are practicing acupuncture. If they want to practice acupuncture, they should be held to the same standards as acupuncturists.
