I am completely in favor of legislation that would revoke the unnecessary mandate that a nurse badge show both the first and last name. It is unfair that we be put in a position where we have to disclose our full name as it is not uncommon for nurses to find themselves in a threatening situation. I absolutely believe this needs to be amended. Nurses give so much and have a reputation for getting little in return. At the very least, our government shouldn't hinder us from protecting ourselves.
