Please give consideration to upholding this petition and passing new guidelines that do not require a nurse's full last name to be provided on their identification badge. As we know in this day and age, healthcare workers are far too easily identified by patients who may have ulterior motive's other than that  of a healthy patient/caregiver relationship.   Personally I have had on more than one occasion, a patient or family member make a direct comment about the spelling of my unique last name and discuss the fact that it wouldn't be hard to locate me outside of work. As we are taught in nursing school, it is not just a patient in a psychiatric setting who may have mental health needs. Patients and families with mental health issues  or a poor sense of appropriate boundaries can be found across the broad spectrum of care.
