Action | Amend Regulations Following Periodic Review |

I'm writing to comment on proposed amendments to current Board of Health regulations governing the health and safety practices of abortion clinics in the state. Current regulations were instrumental in causing unsafe, unsanitary, and appalling practices at a clinic in Fairfax to be shut down in April--at least temporarily. We need to maintain current regulations as is so that such practices are not permitted to harm women and jeopardize their health. The proposed amendments would weaken health and safety standards, allow relatively unskilled clinic staffers to make determinations about fetal tissue, and create an unsafe environment for women's health. I urge the Board to resist political and financial pressure from the abortion clinic lobby and do what's best for women's health by maintaining strong health and safety regulations.
