Me as a coach for USA Boxing for the passed several years, I've had the opportunity to work with many people including kids. Not only as a coach but also a mentor. Now that this new law had been in affect, not only has it affect our boxing program but also relationships I've established with my fighters and upcoming fighters. I've had kids quit due to lose of interest now that they can't compete anymore in the state of Virginia. None of my amateur fighters and myself think it's fair that they have to follow the same rules and regulations as professional fighters, when they are only amateurs. With that being said I think as a coach and mentor we should be able to give these kids and anyone who has that dream, the opportunity of one day making it to the Olympics and winning that gold medal and also representing the state of Virginia as well.
