I oppose Physical therapists needling

Physical Therapists performing acupuncture techniques is dangerous and I believe they have been misleading in their intentions as to why they want this skill in their scope of practice.  I have been told by several PT's that one of the main reasons they are lobbying for the right to needle is purely financial;  they can see more than one patient at a time. These therapists have the intention of not just "dry needling" but also retaining needles and overlapping patients as acupuncturists do.  I suspect this intention is shard by other PT's although they would be loathe to admit it. If patient saftey were foremost in their minds, they would not pick up a needle at all and instead leave it to the professionals.  But patient safety and well being is not the priority in this case - money is.  They simply can make more money offering this service and overlapping patients.

Needling is the main skill of an acupuncturist as thrust adjustment is for the chiropractor.  Why is it even being considered to give the right to needle to someone who is not trained in needling? What does "scope of practice" even mean anymore?
