It's amazing to me that we'll send our military and national organizations half-way across the world to "monitor" elections in other nations to prevent fraud and yet we won't take the basic steps necessary here to insure the legitimacy of our own elections. There have been plenty of situations in recent years in which voter fraud has been exposed -- everything from people voting multiple times to the number of votes exceeding the number of registered voters in a district. Here in Virginia we even had voting machines that could be accessed and the data manipulated. Had a business had such exposure to fraud, they'd be held accountable! It's time for the public sector to set and enforce similar standards.
If we do not enforce the rule of law or selectively enforce laws, then there is no legitimacy to any election. Enforce the laws. Ensure that people registering to vote are indeed legal. And insure that felons are prevented from registering.
ENFORCE THE LAWS.
