Please do not change the voter registration form. The new forms are too ambigious and would cause voter fraud. For instance, the current form has checkboxes for the applicant to affirm his or her U.S. citizenship, the lack of felony convictions, and the absence of any legal mental competency ruling against the applicant. As I understand it, the new form makes checking the boxes OPTIONAL, so the applicant is no longer required to affirmatively state that he or he is a U.S. citizen, has not been convicted of a felony, and has not been found mentally incompetent. Do you seriously think that people will be honest? If they've committed a felony or is not a citizen, do you really think that they will answer those optional questions.
How can you allow a non-citizen to vote? The is a privilege of being a legal US citizen. Please listen to your constituents and do not pass this law.
