I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician and was very fortunate to have amazing mentors during my time as a student.  I was only allowed to do technical tasks with supervision by licensed technicians or veterinarians.  I now have the opportunity to be a mentor myself and pass on my knowledge and train technical skills to current students.  Students are never left unsupervised when performing new skills and all drug and anesthesia dosages are double checked by licensed personnel before administration.  It is impossible for students to learn if their opportunities are restricted.
