Opposed to owner consent regulatory change

I find it interesting that this is even up for discussion. When you go to a hospital or doctor office do you sign consent for interns, nurses in training or even phlebotomist to "practice" on you?  I know that I have never been offered a consent form. Why should veterinary medicine be any different? The only true way to learn is to "practice." I am opposed to this regulation. In order to gain the skill set that one will need to perform their job efficiently and effectively one must get hands one experience. Where will we draw the line will assistant be able to restrain animal, administer oral medications or will we need owner consent for that as well? This will enhance veterinary medicine but become an hindrance.
