I oppose this petition. I understand owners concerns, but I don't think they understand how the veterinary office works with students. Students learning new techniques in school are not allowed to practice invasive procedures until they are discussed in the classroom setting. Even after that, we are still monitored closely until the skill is learned proficiently. There are many required procedures we must perform during our education, and having written permission every time we practice would make this much more difficult than it already is.
