Vet. Students need to be able to do procedures to gain experience and build skills .  In the interest of the animals, owners and the students themselves,  when students are doing procedures it must be with the full knowledge and consent of the owner and with active supervision by a licensed and experienced veterinarian. In addition, if an intern or resident is the treating vet. the owner must be informed and an experienced vet needs to be a supervisor.
