Amend the regulations for existing hospitals

With the recent decision to regulate women's health care centers, per the 2010 Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities, I am requesting an amendment that would remove the grandfather clause that currently applies to Virginia's hospitals. First trimester abortions are statistically safer than child birth and Virginia has a record of safely providing abortions to women for decades. If these regulations are truly vital to the safety of an outpatient procedure such as abortion it's concerning that hospitals, facilities that provide a myriad of medium to high-risk procedures, are currently exempt from this regulation. Please consider the safety of all Virginians and apply these regulations to existing hospitals as well.
