I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed gifted education regulation changes.  I strongly believe that funds designated for gifted education should only be used for those purposes; therefore, I disagree with the proposal to rescind text pertaining to the specific use of DOE funds specifically for gifted education.  Also, I favor the submission of a 5-year plan rather than an annual plan as this allows for efficiencies, monitoring, and better strategic planning.  Lastly, for purposes of specialized awareness of gifted education, I favor continued oversight by DOE rather than local school boards.
