It is imperative that the state of Virginia contine to monitor the gifted programs and their funding.

Our local school board has already been under scrutiny for possible mishandling of monies.  We have personally experienced the fall out of funding issues when the middle school  IB   Program was replaced with the Horizon program for the currently enrolled students and deleted all together for the rising 6th graders.

The state of Virginia must do what is best for the children of the state and continue to support the gifted students by staying active in the process.
