Action | Amend Adult Protective Services |

I have over ten years as an Emergency Medical Technician in a Northern Neck county. I see cases of elder abuse from time to time. This proposed change to the regulations has nothing to do with due process.
Social services invetigations are for information-gathering purposes only and do not lead to charges against the alleged abuser. Only the cops can bring charges and, when they do, then the alleged abuser has all the due process our courts can provide.
This proposed change will do nothing to protect seniors but it will do everything to increase elder abuse because the alleged abuser likely will re-visit the person who is being abused and attack them for reporting him/her to social services.
