To whom it may concern,

We are extremely concerned about the proposed regulation changes pertaining to the Gifted programs in Virginia. The changes would severely undermine the effectiveness of the programs and put the programs at risk. These gifted programs provide these students with the opportunity to maximize their education experience and achieve their top potential both in school and in their careers and service to the community.

I often hear state leaders talk about the investment in public schools as an investment in the future of our state and communities. The Gifted program is just such a program. The students who go through these programs are prepared to best serve their communities, state and nation as leaders in government, private industry and the non-profit sector.

Please walk the talk on this issue and do not change the regulations regarding the Gifted programs in Virginia.
