The proposed changes relating to gifted education in Virginia would be steps in the wrong direction for this special population of students.  Please reject the new proposals.  We simply cannot afford to leave this group of special learners behind in this time of "minimum competencies" emphasis. Protection of  funding and oversight of local plans by the VDOE is critical!
