Gifted Programs are critical in all schools

Our country has already begun suffering from the lack of brilliant minds, trained to bring brilliant solutions to our communities, our businesses and the world market. The emphasis that has been placed on the No Child Left Behind, while I do not argue with the need for such a program, has already raped funds from the Gifted programs. It is equally as critical to "Leave No Genius Behind". Many of these students will not reach anywhere near their potential without the specially-directed Gifted programs. All schools are under great pressure to meet the minimum standards, and thus may very well re-route funds from the gifted programs, IF that choice is available to them. Please, do not allow discretionary use of Gifted funds, for non-gifted programs.
