These Anti-Choice Regulations are Ridiculous

I am outraged at the Virginia House. As a woman in the demographic most impacted by abortion, I find these regulations to be unnecessary, medically unsound, as well as infringing on basic human rights.

1) Forcing a woman to have an ultrasound before she chooses to have an abortion is costly, ineffective, unnecessary, and so incredibly partisan that it makes me sick. In this economy, the thing we need most are unnecessary medical procedures.

2) Defining a sperm and egg (a zygote) as a human being -- and enforcing homicide laws regarding these "human beings" is such a ridiculous prospect that I am tempted to pack up and leave this state. The idea that anyone could think this a good idea positively astounds me! A zygote is not a person. A zygote is the joining of a sperm and an egg. Are we going to persecute women for menstruating or men for masturbating? Think of all the potential lives we are wasting! (I will note here that the following sentence is sarcasm, seeing as how the Virginia House seems to lack any semblance of common sense.)

Women know their lives best -- if they know they cannot have a child, for reasons fiscal or reasons personal -- it is better to trust them than to bring unwanted and expensive children into he world.
