TRAP

The proposed TRAP regulations will increase the financial burden to health care for patients, and yet provide no proven medical benefits.  This disproportionately affects young, low-income, and minority women who may already be struggling to have basic needs met.

This is a demographic that is already hard pressed, with limited options. The only justification for this regulation is on a moral basis, which is not sufficient for purposes of limiting legal rights - see: Lawrence v. Texas. I find it ironic that, in the state where the Declaration of Religious Freedom was written by the very founders many members of the state legislature claim to venerate, they and their administrative staff would contemplate imposing what can only be seen as their religious beliefs on a vulnerable population.
