Opposition to TRAP Laws

Allowing these laws to be enacted would be detrimental to the health of thousands of women across the Commonwealth of Virginia. These women's health clinics provided services that low income cannot get anywhere else. They provede cancer screenings, wellness checkups, and family planning for women who cannot afford to see a general practicioner or some other primary care physician. By imposing these regulations access to basic healthcare would be impossible for these people who are already disadvantaged in our society. In our society we have this dream that everone can achieve the American Dream and pull themselves up by their bootstrap, but this is impossible if we are constantly denying people basic necessities. And when people who are disadvantaged by the system ask for assistance we tell them that it is their fault that they can't schieve the American Dream. Sometimes people do need abortions for health and economic reasons, but it is not our position to judge them for the choices they make; it is a basic human right to determine what you do with your body and life. Some would argue that it is not a doctor or woman's job to "play god" and determine whether or not to abort a fetus, but in response to that I would like to argue that god gave people free will and forgives people when they seek forgiveness. It is not our job to judge and regulate these choices, and by thinking that you should you are assuming a moral position that many people do not share. It is naive to think that everyone is Christian and share the same values as you, so stop imposing religious values on all people. Furthermore, for those that are taking their postition based on Christian values, Jesus was supportive of the people who were disadvantaged and devalued in society, so shouldn't we all be following his example?
