The TRAP regulations do not serve the women of the Commonwealth of Virginia. These regulations continue to inhibit the access of women, especially poor women, to good, affordable healthcare, including the option of legal abortion. 

The continued erosion of women's rights, including the right to abortion, is a calculated political and ideological  assault on thousands of families in Virginia. These regulations, and the proposed legislation that continues to restrict access to birth control, portrays our state as backward-looking and mean-spirited. This is not the Virginia I know. 

I urge the repeal of these laws and the rejection of further laws that attempt to keep women and famiies 'trapped' in the 19th century.
