The proposed changes will not help our students excel when compared to other regions, much less globally. Not all of our local governments have the expertise to develop appropriate gifted programs. We need to have stronger wording to ensure the gifted programs are in place and implemented at all levels. Not doing this will result in watering down the curriculum for students, leading to frustration and lower performance. Let's think this through and adopt a plan that has a proven record - this is an investment in the future, not an area to cut corners.
