I'm in favour of this ammendment and  strongly support it. I hope the Virginia State Board of nursing will re-consider and remove this prohibition. I think it's extremely difficult  /  frustrating  to finish a programme and be told one needs 500 clinical hours of direct clinical supervision before they can be allowed to become licensed in the state of  Virginia.The clinical performance competency examination by Excelsior College is very tough most Excelsior students are either LPN's or paramedics who in one  way or the other work in various heath care settings and so have the  hands on experience. Last but not the least, i believe this move will entice  Excelsior nursing students in Virginia  to stay and alleviate the shortage of nurses. I hope this petition will be considered in your delibrations.
